Taylor Swift's Music Video Director Says Beyonce Copied 'Bad Blood'

Well, there definitely might be some “Bad Blood” between Taylor Swift‘s music video director Joseph Kahn and Beyonce after he made these comments!

Joseph was responding to criticism that Taylor copied Beyonce in her new music video for “Look What You Made Me Do.”

“It’s not ‘Formation’ at all,” Joseph said about the Beyhive thinking Taylor copied the “Formation” video. “They try to say she’s wearing a black crop top and Beyoncé wore a black crop top. But they don’t realize in 2015 in ‘Bad Blood,’ Taylor Swift was wearing a black crop top. I really do think, by the way, that Beyoncé copied ‘Bad Blood.’”

WHAT DO YOU THINK about Joseph Kahn’s comments??

“If I plan something as a man I’m a ‘genius,’” he wrote. “If Taylor as a woman plans something she is ‘manipulative.’ Double standards. This is wrong.”

Following his tweet, Joseph retweeted a Guardian article stating that Taylor is battling misogyny.

The record-breaking “LWYMMD” video has received tons of attention for its references to Taylor‘s career, as well as possible nods to Calvin Harris, Tom Hiddleston, Katy Perry, Kanye West, and Kim Kardashian. Joseph recently responded to the video’s Beyonce comparisons as well.

Joseph has also directed Taylor‘s music videos for “Blank Space,” ”Bad Blood,” and “Wildest Dreams.”

Taylor Swift's Video Director Responds to Beyonce Comparisons

Taylor Swift released a preview for her “Look What You Made Me Do” music video on Friday and the clip led to Beyonce‘s fans comparing it to her Lemonade visual album.

Now, the 27-year-old singer’s video director Joseph Kahn is speaking out to slam accusations that Taylor copied the imagery in Bey‘s videos for her own video.

“I’ve worked with Beyoncé a few times. She’s an amazing person. The #LWYMMDvideo is not in her art space. Love and respect to Bey,” he tweeted.

One of the shots that has caused a lot of the speculation is the one of Taylor lined up next to her male backup dancers. Fans have said this looks like Bey‘s “Formation” video.

Joseph previously directed Taylor‘s videos for “Bad Blood,” “Blank Space,” “Wildest Dreams,” and “Out of the Woods.” He also worked with Bey on Destiny’s Child‘s “Say My Name” and “Jumpin’ Jumpin.”

Then, Joseph went a step further and wrote, “In 30 minutes, as a show of power, @taylorswift13 will blot out the sun,” obviously referring to Taylor‘s massive star power in comparison with the upcoming 2017 Solar Eclipse.
